Nathan Villeneuve | Apex Hockey

Thanks again to you and all the Apex Hockey team for your work with my son this fall. He loved every minute on the ice with you all and has poured over the videos you sent of what he needs to work on. The program was amazing and his skating has really gotten so much faster and stronger. Mostly though, you and the Apex Hockey team have done wonders for his self-confidence and maturity.

Dan Bittle with Apex Hockey USA is currently working with our son at the Great Park location in Irvine, California. Dan initially completed a 1:1 comprehensive data analysis of our son's skating; hockey skills that was detailed and transparent. Some of the equipment he used to gather data on our son he uses with his professional level players, so that's pretty cool. Dan is professional. He is clear in his verbal feedback and the eval highlighted specific areas of strengths/weaknesses in a written report with measurements, embedded video-clips, etc. that we can refer to. As parents who have never played hockey, this information has been extremely valuable. Per coaching, Dan is personable with the kids, consistently attentive and encouraging. He has been helping reinforce some very specific skills in edgework, stick-handling, shooting, and D battles. Dan keeps his coaching groups small, focused and individualized for each player. We plan on continuing with Dan and feel so lucky. Apex Hockey is top-notch!

Apex Hockey Coach Dan Bittle worked with my son and helped him recover from a major shoulder surgery. He is very professional, gives his 100% attention and gave my son constant input. My son was looking forward to every single session he had with Dan. He used his iPad system to teach my son to always have his head up while stick-handling and skating while reinforcing edge work and good skating techniques. Could not ask for any better coaching. The best my son has had.

Coach Dan Bittle has been great. He is high-energy, always reliable and has a stockpile of high-tech "toys" to help keep my boys engaged and learning. Happy we met him and can learn from him!

We just wanted to drop you a quick note to thank you for the time you spent with our son this spring. It made a huge difference in his confidence and his skating and hockey skills. He continued to develop over the summer and we recently found out that he made the team he wanted to. We would love to have you work with him again down the road. Lots of compliments on how his skating and speed improved and we definitely credit that to you. Looking forward to having him back out with you.

Everyone has noticed a huge improvement in our son's footwork and stick handling, as well as his confidence with the puck. Thanks again for all your help and we plan to come back for the AAA camp in July! I honestly have not seen such a drastic improvement in him in any other camp so you know you all are doing something right.

Our son really enjoyed your camp, as well as the semi-private hitting clinic. In addition to new skills, perhaps more importantly, the programs gave him a lot of confidence. I am happy to report that he made the Minor Bantam Orleans Blues team. He is super excited and happy. That was his objective over the summer and he worked hard at it. Not often that a player moves from house B to rep B at that age. Your programs were an integral part of his success. Look forward to working with you more in the future.

Our son made the Major Atom Grads AA team this season (from rep B to AA) with his hard work. He had a decent tryout with 5 goals and 3 assists in 4 exhibition games while experiencing a new position, left wing. Thank you very much for your help making him a better skater.

I wanted to take two minutes to thank you for the great program you guys ran this spring! My son loved it and he said he hopes you guys will be running it again next year. Coming back from a back injury, he was a bit afraid to hit the ice again, but you guys managed to make him gain all his confidence back. Thank you! Great job from all your team! It shows you guys take the time to pick the people that work for you. They all show a great interest in the kids they work with and they all look so professional! It's really great to see them interact with the kids, great role models for them.

The Performance Skating Program exceeded our expectations by proving to be the superior skating/hockey program that we have ever attended in the city. Through repetitions and constant motivation, Dan, Shane, and the other skating coaches focused on helping our son improve all aspects of skating. Since the end of the program, we have seen a positive difference in his skating ability. As such, we will strongly recommend Apex Hockey to any player who is ready and willing to take their skating skills to the next level.

I must tell you that as a former player I am very impressed with the level of coaching on the ice. I saw dedicated and focused drills with excellent demonstrations. I also saw coaches engaging with the players and offering words of encouragement or correction.

The best part is that there is no escape; I have seen so many power skating classes where half the students goof around. Small ratios, and most importantly, the two owners roam the groups and get involved. I see that the kids are focused, and it goes another level when the two owners check in! Those two do care; as heads, they could "take a break" while their staff teach - but not here. It's "all in", with laughs included. I also really like a set schedule and location with minimal changes. That was a factor in my decision to choose Apex Hockey.

We are so thrilled with your program and the way you instruct, model, give feedback and give encouragement to these young athletes. We have just witnessed our son, "figure something out", something he did not get before today. It is clear that you have an in-depth knowledge of many important aspects such as biomechanics, planning for progression and how to connect with young hockey players.

As both a coach and a father, I had the fantastic experience of having Apex Hockey come out with my hockey teams and also to have my son work with them. As a coach, I found Apex Hockey was reliable and provided development through a systematic, hands-on, personalized approach, taking input from me on what I wanted the team to work on. They treated each player in a positive manner while bringing lots of energy and providing instruction for the players to improve. As a father, my son took part in Apex Hockey sessions and Close Quarter Battle Camps, where he learned to increase his agility and speed while also learning how to use those skills in a small space with a puck against an opponent. The experience was excellent from my perspective and from my son. The coaches and founders of Apex Hockey have assembled a knowledgeable, personable energetic staff that employs a thorough, progressive science-based program combining both technology and the art of coaching to create a unique teaching experience. Their attention to detail of the fundamentals combined with their ability to hold the kids' attention makes Apex Hockey one of the top programs that exist in the world. The progress and enthusiasm of my son and players is also matched by the other participants I have seen at Apex Hockey.

Just wanted to let you know that our daughter made the Orleans Blues Minor Peewee Rep B team. There was a big group trying out this year - 28 skaters and 6 goalies, more than the past two years. I'm proud of her. A huge thank you for your coaching, support and encouragement of our daughter over the past couple of years that has led to her breakthrough success this year. Many thanks. See you at the rink!
